Dr. Noghama Airhienbuwa is a board-certified internal medicine physician who provides care for adult patients at Albany Medical Center through the CCP Hospitalist program in Albany, NY. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr. Airhienbuwa is not only fluent in English but also in Edo, ensuring that he can effectively communicate with a diverse range of patients. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria. Dr. Airhienbuwa completed his internship and residency at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia University in New York, New York. He earned a graduate diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the University of Liverpool in Liverpool, United Kingdom, and a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Airhienbuwa is interested in acute care, disease control and prevention, travel and tropical medicine, and tropical infectious disease and dermatology.
Dr. Airhienbuwa’s passion for medicine was ignited by the healthcare disparities he witnessed in his community. This drove him to become a physician and make a difference by providing care in underserved communities. His favorite aspect of being a doctor is the privilege of getting to know patients and collaborating with them in their healthcare journey. Dr. Airhienbuwa believes that communication, physical examination, and reviewing the patient’s medical chart are crucial for quality care. He offers all patients his extensive experience in clinical medicine, high ethical standards, and compassionate bedside manner. He finds immense joy in witnessing his patients’ clinical conditions improve with his intervention.
Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Airhienbuwa loves to travel, watch soccer, read medicine journals, spend time with family, and walk around the neighborhood in his spare time.
